So the fashion business isn't exactly turning great ROI right now. For Valentino in particular, having your head guru leave makes everything a bit harder. Well imagine how delighted I was when I went through some old runway archives and noticed Valentino's Fall 2009 collection...I have no idea how I missed this first time but goshdarn, I'm glad I found it (again)!

This is black done perfect. I would kill to have that amazing asymmetrical piece, face mask included. I loved the lace, loved the ruffles, loved the weird face masks, loved the feathers--basically everything. I like the crisp, simple backdrop it was shown in, too--way to keep it classy Valentino!

Well, what can I say. Chanel, I thought you went astray when you started making bubblegum pink versions of the classic quilted 2.55 bag. I'm so glad you're back on track. I don't care if everyone already saw the photos, I'm still drooling.

I once heard a great rule: "if you can model it 5+ ways, buy it!" and boy I think every piece in this collection is worth the money....if I had it (wink nudge Amazon!). This is class at its finest, and I'm glad Chanel has redeemed itself despite its foray into fashion jewelry: disgusting (and potentially not nickel-free) signature earrings that retail for $180. I applaud you Mr. Lagerfield, I think Coco Chanel can finally rest in peace now. I even liked the over-the-top hair displays, the feathery columns at the runway set, and the crazy sheer gauzy pieces...the whole collection tied together so effortlessly I am astonished. Bravo, bravo.
